We have made wonderful use of all the items provided to our classroom this year.\r\n\r\nThe binder holders have been fantastic for keeping our PYP binders organized, giving each student their own dedicated space. On the carpet, the number dots have allowed the students to find their designated spots quickly and efficiently, saving us valuable instructional time. Additionally, the bags and bins helped us keep our Language Arts and Math materials neatly in one place; this made it easy for students to access what they needed while learning essential organizational skills. Finally, we have absolutely loved using the paint for an array of creative activities, such as painting chameleons to explore camouflage, and creating beautiful Mother's Day bags to gift to the amazing moms who support our classroom.\r\n\r\nThe students were incredibly excited when all the materials arrived, especially the paint! They truly love expressing their creative sides.\r\n\r\nAs the school year comes to a close, I am so grateful that my current students benefited so deeply from your generosity—from staying organized to expressing themselves artistically. Best of all, future students will continue to benefit from these materials, allowing me to instill strong organizational habits and dive into art projects right from the very start of the next school year.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your incredible support of our students and our classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1772649916628,"projectUrl":"project/help-our-first-graders-stay-organized-an/10111127/","projectTitle":"Help Our First Graders Stay Organized and Ready to Learn","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Khamvongsa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8915160"},{"teacherId":2863413,"projectId":10103362,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom project. Your generosity has made a meaningful difference for both our preschool and special education students. The new supplies and sensory materials have already become an important part of our daily learning routines. Students are using the sensory tools to explore textures, strengthen fine motor skills, practice self-regulation, and engage more fully in classroom activities. The preschool materials have helped create hands-on learning experiences that encourage creativity, communication, and early academic development.\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, their excitement was immediate. They were eager to explore the sensory items, and many students gravitated toward the different textures, manipulatives, and learning tools right away. It was wonderful to see students who sometimes struggle to engage become curious, focused, and enthusiastic about participating. The materials have helped create a welcoming environment where all learners can feel successful and included.\r\nAs we continue our school year, students will use these resources during centers, small-group instruction, sensory breaks, and skill-building activities. We are focusing on developing communication, social-emotional skills, fine motor development, and early literacy and math concepts. These materials will continue to support meaningful learning opportunities and help our students build confidence as they grow. Your support has truly transformed our classroom, allowing our students to become the little explorers they were meant to be. With these resources, our children have been able to dive into hands-on learning, creativity, and imagination with absolutely no restrictions.\r\nCulinary Skills & Teamwork\r\nThe Stainless Steel Mixing Bowls & Utensils Set became the backbone of our cooking classes! The students used the nesting bowls, measuring cups, and spoons to prepare ingredients for our Growing Vegetable Soup book activity, learning real-world math and measurement skills.\r\n\r\nDuring our \"Kick-Off to Summer\" class, students proudly made fresh salsa and guacamole. We even figured out a clever classroom hack: utilizing the silicone mats under our cutting boards to keep them securely in place, ensuring a safe, slip-free environment for our budding chefs.\r\n\r\nPlayful Math & Fine Motor Growth\r\nThe BBtinker Wooden Number Tracing Board has been a phenomenal tool for developing fine motor skills and number recognition. While it is perfect for independent play, it also became a wonderful social activity. We loved watching the children partner up with friends to count and trace together. They were having so much fun, they didn't even realize how much math they were learning!\r\n\r\nScientific Inquiry & Imagination\r\nThe Yellow Door Sensory Worry Stones sparked incredible curiosity the moment the students saw them. We set up a dedicated discovery station featuring the stones on a tray, paired with a book about rocks, magnifying glasses, clipboards, paper, and pencils.\r\n\r\nThe children completely immersed themselves in the role of scientists—grabbing their tools, asking deep questions, tracing the stones, and discussing their theories with peers. It was a beautiful way to foster both imagination and social-emotional communication.\r\n\r\nCreativity just explodes when children are given free rein with high-quality art supplies. Watching our students mix colors and paint their own masterpieces with zero restrictions has been a joy. Inspired by the book The Perfect Square, the kids have been using the Watercolor Paint and Card stock to cut, tear, and rip paper, turning simple shapes into unique works of art.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for these items. This year has definitely let these little explorers use their own creativity and imagination with no restrictions to what they can do, other than be the little explorers they were meant to be.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has brought joy, discovery, and deep learning into our classroom every single day. The planting pots are now growing beans, and the students are absolutely excited every morning to come to school and check on their plants. Students will be using the cutter to help build their Hawaiian cardboard sleds, inspired by ancient Hawaiian designs.\r\n\r\nThe awesome thing is this: we were able to get 2 cutters to share among our 4 classes.
