Through decisive moments and stories that happen naturally I will foster the idea of agency and one's ability to change the world around them.. The camera will act as a catalyst between visual, oral, and written expression for a campus newspaper. Students love talking and writing about images or video that they have either taken or seen in the news. Even as adults, we are naturally drawn in and changed by decisive moments that were captured and described through stories and documentation. I chose the Olympus TG-5 action camera because it's a great camera to learn on in terms of simplicity of design and menus. It is not only drop resistant but also waterproof which takes away the fear of accidentally dropping the camera or getting it wet. Our grade levels (4th for this year) do a lot of environmental awareness field trips which often times means getting down and dirty. This is one of the few cameras that can handle such outings and still take RAW images for further education in the elements and principals of modern digital media techniques and knowledge.
