My first graders were overjoyed when they first saw the new carpet rolled out across our floor — several of them immediately sat down, giggling and stretching out, saying things like, \"It's so soft!\" and \"Now we can all fit!\" It instantly became our favorite spot in the room. \r\n\r\nWe use our new carpet every single day during circle time, storytime, lessons, and class discussions. The students have a carpet spot on a letter on the ABC carpet during lessons to help them focus. Having a comfortable and defined space has made a huge difference in helping students focus, share their ideas, and build stronger connections with one another. It's amazing to see how this simple change has encouraged even my shyest students to participate and feel included.\r\n\r\nThe Cricut machine has been another wonderful addition to our classroom. We are still figuring out how to use it in different ways, but there are so many possibilities. We've been using it to create special stickers for our positive behavior system. \r\n\r\nOur next step is to use the Cricut to create Kindness Cards. They learned about being bucket fillers in class the first quarter and how they can fill others buckets by being kind. Each student will make a card for another classmate recognizing something they did to fill a bucket. They can't wait to start!\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our classroom feels warmer, more welcoming, and full of creativity.
