We also had meaningful discussions about friendship, kindness, empathy, and perseverance—lessons that reached far beyond reading.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is interactive and collaborative. Students read independently, with partners, and together as a class. They love stopping to discuss what they think will happen next, sharing their favorite parts, and connecting the story to their own lives. Seeing every child holding the same book created an incredible sense of community and excitement around reading.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who were previously hesitant readers became much more eager to participate because they had their own copy to treasure during our unit.
