Your contribution has made a meaningful difference in our learning environment, and we are incredibly grateful.\r\nOne of our favorite parts of this project has been exploring the books Glue on Strike and Pencils on Strike. Through the silly and creative storytelling, my students learned important lessons about how to take care of our materials—why glue bottles shouldn't be squeezed until they explode, why pencils deserve sharp points and careful writing, and how our tools help us do our best work when we respect them. These books brought so many laughs and \"aha!\" moments, and their impact is already visible in how responsibly students are treating their supplies.\r\nWe are also thrilled with our new classroom materials. The stamp ink pads have quickly become a favorite! Students use letter stamps to build and practice spelling words, and it has turned spelling practice into something hands-on, joyful, and engaging for all types of learners. The book bins have been just as transformative—keeping our stories organized and easy to browse during self-selected reading time. Being able to choose books they truly love has encouraged students to read more, talk about stories, and develop their independence as readers.\r\nBecause of you, our classroom is filled with stories, learning tools, and opportunities that make school feel exciting. We could not take pictures of the books filling our shelves because someone always has them checked out. We love waiting for a friend to finish the book they are reading so it can be enjoyed by another person, too! We have included some photos of us reading our favorite books. It is so cool that we can read great books with our classmates. We love to be able to talk about books with our friends, and get to share about what book we want to read next. Each book was picked just for us, and we are so lucky to have such nice books to read. Thank you!!\r\n\r\nSome other comments students shared were \"I love that we all can read the same book in book clubs together,\" and \"I never knew I would love this series so much!\" \"Snaps for a great book\" applaud the room after every powerful read aloud. These remarks and countless more continue to emphasize and promote the positive literacy culture and climate in our room every day.\r\n\r\nThere is no better feeling than the one I get to enjoy every day as I watch students read books they are interested in around the room, run to the library for another great book, or as they pile them into their bookbags to explore more at home. I love being able to provide this opportunity for students to read books that challenge them, inspire them, and make them wonder. Student conversations surrounding books and their favorite characters/eventful moments are a constant buzz all day long, and we are so grateful to give students access to such literacy and mentor texts. These boards encourage creativity and repeated practice in a way that feels like play.\r\n\r\nOur phonics and word-building centers have been strengthened by materials like the Snap & Match and Snap & Build sets and Roll & Read games. First graders are actively exploring vowel sounds, blends, digraphs, syllables, and ending sounds by manipulating pieces, solving challenges, and learning through trial and error. These playful experiences help solidify foundational reading skills in a developmentally appropriate way.\r\n\r\nThe sight-word games, especially Splash!
