During these unprecedented times of COVID-19, teachers are starting out in remote learning settings only to move into a hybrid setting and now back again to a remote learning setting. Through it all, changes abound but the learning must continue. In either scenario, the return to the classroom is inevitable even if it is part-time. Upon return especially in First Grade, students will not know how to behave or control their bodies. The balance balls will help them get the wiggles out and better able to focus on the tasks at hand. In addition, I am asking for reading materials and manipulatives that will help accelerate their reading proficiency and hopefully make up any lost time incurred by Covid.
