These materials have played an important role in our current project on manatee conservation and persuasive writing. With your support, my students wrote heartfelt letters advocating for the protection of manatees and even proposing a future educational trip to Puerto Rico. The new resources allowed them to explore ocean habitats, engage in hands-on activities, and feel truly connected to the topic.\r\n\r\nOne of the most memorable moments happened during our school's Friendsgiving celebration. Our assistant principal and head of school personally congratulated my students for the thoughtful letters they created. Watching my students beam with pride as they were recognized for their hard work was unforgettable.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were absolutely thrilled. Their excitement filled the room—there were gasps, applause, and eager conversations as they explored each item. They immediately began brainstorming creative ideas and couldn't wait to \r\nThanks to your generosity, we are now preparing the next steps. Students will continue researching manatees, creating presentations to share with other classrooms, and refining their persuasive writing. Your support has given them confidence, curiosity, and a sense of accomplishment that will carry them into our future lessons.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in our classroom and for making these meaningful experiences possible.","fullyFundedDate":1760906767966,"projectUrl":"project/salvemos-a-los-manates/9794350/","projectTitle":"¡Salvemos a los Manatíes!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sánchez-West","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5332049_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1661203911945","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/sanchezwest"},{"teacherId":10313182,"projectId":9833122,"letterContent":"Our classroom has been absolutely transformed thanks to your generous support! The new resources have brought energy and excitement into our lessons. My students have been using them to explore new concepts, collaborate in small groups, and express their creativity in ways that weren't possible before.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching my students' faces light up the first day the materials arrived. They immediately wanted to explore, share, and dive right into learning. It turned what would've been an ordinary day into something truly special, filled with curiosity, laughter, and teamwork.\r\n\r\nSince then, we've incorporated these materials into reinforcing fundamental reading skills that help students apply their learning. \r\n\r\nYour generosity has made a lasting impact not just on our classroom environment, but on how my students see learning itself. The students were thrilled to open the boxes and discover new and exciting books to read. Your generosity brought excitement and curiosity into our independent reading time. Many students who are reluctant to read usually, couldn't wait to have a turn with a new book.\r\n\r\nThe students especially loved having a variety of books that reflected authentic voices and diverse perspectives. Thank you again for supporting our readers and for recognizing the power of choice and representation in building a love of reading. They were especially drawn to the colorful visuals and interactive nature of the materials. During our first lesson with the Building Fluency Card Bank, students eagerly chose passages to read aloud to partners. They timed themselves, tracked progress, and celebrated improvements together. Students who had been shy about reading in front of others proudly volunteered to read to the group after just a few sessions—an incredible moment that showed how these tools were building confidence as well as fluency.\r\n\r\nWe also used the English Language Development Writing Center for a writing project. Students selected vocabulary from the word banks, organized their ideas using the provided sentence frames, and then illustrated their writing to share with classmates. The structure of the center helped even beginning English learners feel successful, and the visual prompts sparked rich discussions about each student's unique experiences and cultures. Seeing them support one another and take pride in their finished pieces was truly inspiring.\r\n\r\nThe Nonfiction Comprehension Quickie Cards and Literature Magnetic Teaching Charts were regular parts of our reading centers. Students used them to explore a nonfiction unit on animals and then applied what they learned to a group research poster. The magnetic charts were used to analyze characters and themes in another unit. These resources transformed reading and writing time into engaging, hands-on learning experiences that encouraged curiosity, collaboration, and growth in both language and confidence.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my English language learners the opportunity to learn through engaging, high-quality materials. Your kindness has made a lasting difference in our classroom, and we are truly appreciative of your support.","fullyFundedDate":1671974392312,"projectUrl":"project/read-all-about-it/6807733/","projectTitle":"Read All About It!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Palmer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8020803_orig.jpg?crop=600,600,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1662656918116","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8020803"},{"teacherId":5332049,"projectId":9039615,"letterContent":"Thank you again for your contribution to my project. When our new materials arrived, my students were so excited! They couldn't wait to explore everything and start using the new resources during our hands-on learning centers. We recently started a science unit on planting plants and observing them daily, and the materials have made such a big difference.\r\n\r\nThe heat lamps have been especially helpful — they allow us to provide consistent light and warmth for our plants as we learn about what they need to grow. Each day, students take turns watering, measuring, and recording observations about their plants' growth. They love seeing how the light helps the seedlings stretch and grow taller each day!\r\n\r\nOur next step is to continue tracking plant growth and create a class journal documenting our findings with pictures and drawings. We'll also compare how plants grow under natural sunlight versus the heat lamps. These activities are helping students connect science, writing, and math in meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping make learning come alive in our classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1746501552640,"projectUrl":"project/growing-minds-growing-plants-a-classro/9039615/","projectTitle":"Growing Minds, Growing Plants: A Classroom Garden","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sánchez-West","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5332049_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1661203911945","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/sanchezwest"},{"teacherId":5332049,"projectId":9040171,"letterContent":"Dear Donor,\r\n\r\nThank you so much for your generous donation to our project! Your support has made a meaningful difference in my classroom and in the lives of my students as they embark on their journey to learn Spanish.\r\n\r\nThanks to your contribution, we've been able to incorporate the donated phones into our reading sessions. Students now have the opportunity to hear themselves read aloud and sound out words—an incredibly effective way to build confidence and fluency. The small magic whiteboards have become a favorite tool for practicing writing letters and responding to questions in a fun and interactive way.\r\n\r\nThe finger pointers have also been a huge help during reading time. They allow students to follow along more accurately and pause when necessary to repeat and internalize new words.\r\n\r\nOverall, your donation has given my students the tools to not only learn a new language but to truly fall in love with it.
