Advancement Via Individual Determination or AVID's mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society." On a monthly basis, we expose our middle school students to various aspects of college. For example, paying for college and opportunities available, campus life, and how to prepare for college. To enhance college exposure to our students, my AVID colleagues plan college tours at least one time a year. However, not many colleges are willing to provide college tours to middle school students. We are also limited to the number of field trips due to COVID, but if we had these Oculus - Quest 2 Advanced All-In-One Virtual Reality Headset, we can flip the college tour experience and bring college to the students in our classrooms.
