Since receiving the resources, my chemistry students have had a lot of fun engaging with chemical bonds and reactions in a much more meaningful way. The first time we used the materials was during a lesson on balancing chemical equations. The students modeled chemical reactions by combining colored blocks to represent elements and compounds on both sides of the reaction, which helped them visualize conservation of mass in a way that a worksheet never could. I was amazed to watch students who typically struggle confidently adjust the coefficients of their compounds and help their peers in understanding the concept.\r\n\r\nMy students were also really excited about the chance to experiment, and we used the donated materials to conduct a lab focused on distinguishing ionic from covalent compounds. They worked in groups to collect data on unknown substances by testing their melting point, solubility in water, and conductivity. The best moment for me was seeing the students' faces light up when they saw that their unknown substance lit up the LED battery in their circuit setup, and realizing it was an ionic compound. Seeing that excitement really shows the importance of learning a concept hands-on, and we will definitely continue using the materials to engage in more hands-on investigations and learning! \r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, thank you for making these experiences possible. Your generosity has given my students access to experiences and opportunities to bring science to life that slides and worksheets cannot. Thank you again for your impact on our class.","fullyFundedDate":1768793900819,"projectUrl":"project/investigating-chemical-reactions-through/10039231/","projectTitle":"Investigating Chemical Reactions through Hands-On Activities","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Li","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10411824"},{"teacherId":7776439,"projectId":9910325,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our classroom has been transformed into a calm, creative, and supportive space where students feel safe expressing themselves. We use the new art materials daily during both structured lessons and independent choice time. One especially meaningful moment was during a recent \"feelings collage\" project. Students selected colors, textures, and images to represent their emotions, and many who typically struggle to communicate verbally were able to share powerful stories through their artwork. It was incredible to see their confidence grow as they explained their creations in ways that felt comfortable to them.\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were filled with excitement and curiosity. Their faces lit up as they explored the different textures, colors, and tools. For many, it was the first time they had access to such a variety of high-quality art supplies. That initial excitement quickly turned into focused engagement, as they eagerly began creating and experimenting.\r\nAs we move forward, we are building on this momentum by incorporating art into our social-emotional learning lessons. Our next step is a self-portrait and identity project where students will reflect on their strengths, emotions, and personal experiences. These projects will continue to support communication, emotional regulation, and self-awareness while reinforcing important academic and life skills.","fullyFundedDate":1764716690834,"projectUrl":"project/mental-soundness-through-creation/9910325/","projectTitle":"Mental Soundness Through Creation","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rueda","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7776439"},{"teacherId":8404793,"projectId":10020636,"letterContent":"Thank you for your kind consideration and support of my students. Immediately, I had students volunteer to open up the boxes and start sorting the items. Students helped staff in the classroom as well as myself set up and build the shelf organizer. Students also assisted in labeling bags with student names and put in each bag the seven important essentials for grooming. Each student bag consists of a toothbrush kit, toothpaste, comb, shampoo/conditioner, lotion, face towel, soap and lip balm.\r\n After each student had his/her own individual hygiene kit, the life skills curriculum on oral hygiene and daily routine was implemented in the classroom. Students were presented with a video on the importance of daily grooming routine as well as oral hygiene routine. Each student was handed their own individual hygiene kit with all the supplies in the bag and were so eager to open the bag and see all the supplies they had in the bag. Students in each period have been very engaged in the oral hygiene lesson and all students have been participating in the lesson of the steps of brushing their teeth correctly. Instead of simply playing notes on a page, students are now performing alongside coordinated visuals displayed on connected TVs. The images help tell the story of our show, reinforcing musical themes and giving students a deeper understanding of how music, media, and storytelling work together. They are learning timing, precision, and how to align their performance with visual cues — real-world skills used in professional productions, film scoring, and large-scale performances.\r\n\r\nThe new computer has been especially impactful. It is fast, reliable, and powerful enough to run our visuals seamlessly during rehearsal and performance. This means no lag, no glitches — just smooth transitions that allow students to stay focused on their musicianship. In a drumline show, where timing is everything, that reliability builds confidence.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most is seeing their performance come to life. When they watch the screens light up with imagery that matches what they are playing, their energy shifts. They stand taller. They play with more intention. It feels bigger than just a school performance — it feels professional.\r\n\r\nSome of our students who are particularly interested in technology have really gravitated toward helping run the visuals. They are taking ownership of cueing slides, troubleshooting connections, and learning how production technology works behind the scenes. For many of our students — who come from backgrounds where access to advanced technology can be limited — this hands-on experience is powerful. It shows them that they are capable of producing something sophisticated and meaningful.\r\n\r\nYour support didn't just buy equipment. It expanded our students' creativity, confidence, and technical skills. It helped them see that their art can be multimedia, modern, and impactful. And that is something they will carry with them far beyond this performance.","fullyFundedDate":1768966168678,"projectUrl":"project/energizing-our-music-with-tech/9744238/","projectTitle":"Energizing Our Music With Tech","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Anthony","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4036289_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1543352542486","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/k-mccarley"},{"teacherId":6184838,"projectId":10023109,"letterContent":"Thank you very much for the materials that you funded.
