The items that we acquired through your donation have greatly impacted our small reading groups. This year my students were very kind and loving but struggled as readers. I was worried about their lack of abilities to access the curriculum due to their limited reading skills. The items that were purchased, such as the decodable reading sets, has allowed us to break down the groups in the areas that they needed the most practice in. We were able to create centers for long and complex vowels and diphthongs. Daily, students received 30 minutes of intense direct instruction with the tools you provided. My students were able to all grow in their reading skills for the final IREADY reading evaluation! \r\n The reading rods were a great addition to my readers that had the most difficulties with sounds. This allowed them to connect the letters together to form the sounds and help them identify their sight words. They became very excited when putting words together. Lastly the Reader's Theater books were perfect for my Academy Groups. I had the higher readers and they enjoyed learning more about American Legends like Amelia Earhart. Again many thanks for your kind donations.
