I want to offer my students with as many resources as possible to help them develop reading skills. Kindle Student Edition tablets will provide students with immediate access to hundreds of online books of different genres. I would like my students to have access to this additional tool to help change their perceptions towards reading. Many students become discouraged when they move through the stages of phonics instruction and can easily form an type of reluctance. I would like to turn this perception around and help my students fall in love with books and view them as a resource to not only gather information, but view reading as fun. In this day in age, kids can easily be fed entertainment without putting in much effort by a push of a button. The enjoyment of reading and accessing quality knowledge is the path towards a very important end goal. To become individual thinkers!
