We recently launched our first major project: a student-run apparel line where teams design, pitch, and manufacture custom tees for our school's upcoming entrepreneurship showcase. Using the **Apple TV 4K**, students wirelessly mirror their design files from their desks to the main screen, leading their own peer-critique sessions to refine logos and layout dimensions. Once the designs are finalized, the studio floor comes alive. Students are using the **Excel Precision Hooks and Pin Pens** to weed intricate vinyl graphics, which they then flawlessly fuse onto fabric using the **Cricut EasyPress and Mat**. Thanks to the **Clorox and Lysol wipes**, the teams have naturally established a \"clean-as-you-go\" workflow, sanitizing the pressing stations between production shifts just like a real business.\r\n\r\nWhen the delivery boxes first arrived, the classroom erupted into genuine excitement. My students felt an immediate sense of validation seeing professional-grade equipment like the Cricut EasyPress unpacked right in front of them; one student even remarked that it felt like they were opening a real print shop. They were incredibly eager to test out the specialty weeding tools, treating them with the respect and care of true artisans. Seeing that strangers cared enough to invest in their creative potential gave them an immense boost of pride and confidence before they even cut their first piece of vinyl.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, our next step is to transition from the prototyping phase into full-scale production. Now that they have mastered the fine motor skills required for weeding and the precise temperature settings for the EasyPress, students are using the **Cricut Value Iron-On and Frisco Craft Transfer Tape** to fulfill small orders for school clubs. They are currently calculating material costs, managing inventory, and setting up an e-commerce framework to track their sales. Your generous support hasn't just given us tools; it has given these budding engineers and entrepreneurs a tangible launching pad for real-world success.","fullyFundedDate":1771696126170,"projectUrl":"project/design-display-elevating-student-crea/10108085/","projectTitle":"Design & Display: Elevating Student Creation","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Fukunaga","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8028432"},{"teacherId":7699183,"projectId":10103680,"letterContent":"Your generosity has made a tremendous difference for our students. Using the new materials, they experimented with color, texture, and composition in ways that would not have been possible before. The quality of their work improved significantly, but even more importantly, their confidence as artists grew. Students took pride in their creations and were excited to display their finished pieces for classmates, teachers, and families.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students and helping them discover the joy of creating art. Your investment in our classroom has provided vital tools that bridge digital technology and tactile engineering.\r\n\r\n My students are a vibrant group of natural-born problem solvers. They are utilizing these new resources to discover that STEM and Art (STEAM) are not separate worlds, but rather two halves of the same creative process by combining \"high-tech\" tools with \"low-tech\" craft supplies. Here is how the materials are being used in our classroom:\r\n\r\n TONOR Microphones & micro:bit Guides: Students use the TONOR podcast microphones to master communication and literacy through animation voiceovers and adding voice to their VR animation projects. Also, the micro:bit gear and user guides introduce them directly to computational thinking and logic.\r\n\r\n Cardboard Sheets & EVA Foam: Serving as the \"bones\" of our inventions, students use the corrugated cardboard sheets and multi-colored EVA foam sheets to engage in rapid prototyping in their microbit projects.\r\n\r\n Art Supplies (Scissors, Glue, Origami Paper): These materials act as the essential \"connectors\" in our classroom. Utilizing high-quality multipurpose scissors, Elmer's washable glue sticks, and Sax origami paper ensures no student's project is sidelined by a lack of basic supplies.\r\n\r\n When encountering these resources, the students instantly channeled their incredible \"maker spirit\"—that internal spark of curiosity that drives them to ask, \"How does this work?\" and \"Can I make it better?\". Though they come from diverse backgrounds with varying previous access to technology, they all share a relentless drive to share their voices and see their ideas take physical shape using these new materials. \r\n\r\n With these tools now fully integrated into our daily routine, our next steps focus on deeper execution and technical development:\r\nStructural Engineering: Students will continue using the craft foam and cardboard sheets to actively develop their spatial reasoning and structural engineering skills.\r\nPhysical Prototyping: They will take their abstract digital coding concepts and physically construct them into wearable or moveable tangible objects.\r\nVoice and Artistic Expression: Students will continue expanding their literacy skills by capturing oral reports through the TONOR microphones, while using art supplies to add fine motor development and artistic expression so their technical projects feel personal and polished.\r\n\r\n Thank you for giving our students the resources to see their ideas take physical shape!","fullyFundedDate":1771686549708,"projectUrl":"project/full-stream-ahead-integrating-audio-tec/10067542/","projectTitle":"Full-Stream Ahead: Integrating Audio Tech & Engineering","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Anderson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7662450"},{"teacherId":7929576,"projectId":10103550,"letterContent":"Thank you for your donation of surge protectors outlets and toaster ovens to help my students who are second language learners. These crafts gave my English Learners a comfortable way to practice new vocabulary and follow directions while creating something they were proud of. It was amazing to see students who are usually quiet during lessons suddenly leading their groups, showing their classmates how to fold paper or explaining the symbolism behind the \"Year of the Horse\" decorations.\r\n\r\nThis project did exactly what I hoped: it made every student feel like they belong in our diverse community.
