My students could benefit from the appropriate resources and materials needed to complete research projects. I am requesting floor seats, composition notebooks, index cards, binders, markers, two cases for our iPads and resources from Teachers Pay Teachers which will help with their learning.
Our fifth graders complete a yearly Exhibition project in which they research a current event or topic and present at the end of the year. In preparing for fifth grade, fourth graders do a mini research project tied to their Hawaiian studies.
Teachers Pay Teachers is a wonderful resource that will provide my students with a variety of strategies and skills to will practice including graphic organizers as well as tools such as classroom posters, to help support my students with their reading and writing.
Our iPads are currently not allowed for student use to due the fact that we have no cases covers to protect the iPads. The previous covers deteriorated and fell apart. The iPad definitely helps students to research topics and more user friendly especially for students with special needs.
In addition, my current HDMI cable in use with our classroom projector keeps bogging out in the connectivity. I use the projector a lot to expand on my students' background knowledge. Showing them videos is a visual avenue to how they learn.
It would also be great to provide students with flexible seating and incentives.
