The materials are big enough for their little hands and not to small where they may put them in their mouths. They have been able to manipulate the large stars to put them together, while working on their colors and fine motor skills. I have been busy putting together learning, hands on books for them to velcro different emotion pictures, shapes and much more to. The paint cups also are very helpful to let them paint using a whole arm movement and not spilling paint all over, or wasting it because it dries up.
