My school has 60 minutes of math. During this time, I have centers set up for students to work independently, with partners, and in small groups while I am working with a small group. These centers will provide an opportunity for my students to practice their math skills already taught in my classroom.
These materials will provide hands-on and engaging math activities to better meet the needs of my students while they learn Spanish. Centers at this age need to be interactive and fun. Centers also need to be at various levels and abilities. My students love this time to explore and be creative.
Games, pattern block cards, dominoes, hands-on number grid and other additional hands-on materials in this project will help to provide hands-on math learning activities for students with different learning styles. The dry erase pocket class pack will be used for worksheet and center games where students can easily write on the surface easily with a dry erase marker. The math materials will help students develop a strong number sense, especially 1:1 correspondence and subitizing, which are skills directly linked to math success in later grades.
These materials will greatly help my kindergartners learn throughout the entire school year.
