My students are part of the ONLY Italian Immersion Program in Wisconsin, 1 of 2 in the nation! Our students come from a variety of socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds. Italian immersion students are offered an opportunity that is rare to any impoverished public elementary school; to learn a foreign language and it's culture. As an urban teacher, I do not only provide my students with an academic education, I teach self respect, confidence, self-reliance, and, the Italian language. My passion for enlightening my students is generated by the hope that grows in my students eyes while developing confidence in their education. Hope of opportunities due to knowledge, and the power to act on that hope in achieving their goals.
