When my students first saw the Gelli printing materials, their excitement was contagious! They couldn't wait to get their hands on the supplies and start creating. For many of my students, this was their first experience with printmaking, and they quickly discovered that art is about so much more than drawing a perfect picture. It's about taking risks, exploring new techniques, embracing happy accidents, and discovering that even unexpected results can become something beautiful.\r\n\r\nOur students have been using the materials to experiment with colors, textures, patterns, and layered designs, creating unique prints that reflect their individual personalities and artistic ideas. Watching them pull back that first print to reveal a one-of-a-kind creation has been such a rewarding experience! There is something truly special about seeing students who may sometimes doubt their artistic abilities light up with pride when they create something they never imagined they could make. Seeing their excitement over something as simple as deodorant and paper towels reminded me how meaningful these resources can be for our students.\r\n\r\nAfter a fun and active game in PE, students are using the deodorant and paper towels to clean up and feel fresh and comfortable before heading to their next class. When students get sweaty from playing, running, and competing, having these supplies available helps them feel more confident and ready to finish their school day. These simple resources are helping meet a real need for our students.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, I would love to continue this project and find additional ways to support my students' needs. During independent reading time, students use the reading guide strips to stay focused on line-by-line text, which has significantly boosted reading confidence for my struggling readers. Our new pencil sharpener, staples, and tape keep our daily routines running seamlessly, and having healthy snacks on hand ensures no student has to try to learn on an empty stomach.\r\n\r\nWhen the packages arrived, the excitement was immediate. The kids cheered when they saw the snacks, and their eyes widened when they saw the bright reading guide strips and magnetic paper. One of my students immediately raised their hand and asked, \"Are these strips going to help me read better?\" Knowing that people outside our classroom cared enough to send us these brand-new supplies made my students feel incredibly special, valued, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nNow that these daily essentials are integrated into our routine, students are using their reading guide strips and markers to navigate our narrative writing unit.
