While students were working on their beadwork project I observed a sense of engagement not seen before in the classroom. The creation of a more diverse medium has demonstrated that this makes for a more effective and productive lesson. Students will increase their interest and enjoyment working on projects they can be pleased with. With beadworking students will be able to work with diverse projects such as Indigenous culture, Chinese and African cultures. This will capture their interest in learning new ways of bringing culture into their classroom and projects. Students will be more engaged in their projects if they are interested in what they are learning.
