Students have expressed how they enjoy using weight instead of resistance bands. They have even asked when we are getting another machine.\r\n\r\nStudents also enjoy the dumbbells and wrist/forearm developers. They smiled and eagerly explored each item, especially the fidget Solar System toys and threading boards. These tools are now part of our daily routine. Students use them to stay calm and focused during lessons, and I've noticed they are much more engaged. One student who used to have trouble staying in his seat now keeps a fidget toy close by, which helps him stay grounded and take part in class activities with more confidence.\r\n\r\nThe hands-on science kits have made our lessons even more exciting. During a recent crystal growing experiment, students were fascinated to see the changes happen over time. This led to great conversations and questions about science topics like matter and energy. The STEM and life skills resources have helped us connect what we learn in class to real life, like measuring ingredients for a recipe or working together on simple coding projects. These activities are helping my students feel more confident about using what they learn.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generous support, my students are learning to self-regulate, work together, and think critically in ways that go beyond the classroom. We are now planning a new science unit to explore cause and effect with more of the experiment kits you provided. With the tissues the students know that when needed there will be tissues to use for running noses, colds and allergies.\r\n\r\nOur school is in the Las Vegas area where the dust is so bad at times, so having the wipes and tissues helps the students know that I care about their well-being, and want each one of the students to be in school and learning. Students who once hesitated to share personal stories found the mixed media supplies—textured papers, metallic paints, adhesive foils, and varied brushes—made it easier to express complex feelings visually. The technology we paired with the materials, like digital projectors for demonstrating layering techniques and tablets for sketching initial designs, allowed learners to experiment without fear of ruining their work. This combination of low‑stakes digital sketching and tactile materials built confidence: pupils could refine ideas on screen, then commit confidently to physical pieces knowing they had tested compositions first.\r\n\r\nWhat excited students most was the opportunity to personalize their shields with symbols and textures that mattered to them. Some students used translucent papers to represent vulnerability, while others layered bold metallics to show resilience; the range of supplies made symbolism tangible. A few learners who usually struggle with writing really warmed to the visual storytelling aspect—one student with language processing challenges created a powerful shield whose color choices and collaged images communicated a narrative they couldn't put into words before. Overall, the materials gave every student multiple entry points to engage, reflect, and produce work they were proud to share.","fullyFundedDate":1699711844281,"projectUrl":"project/killgos-class-in-full-color/8006145/","projectTitle":"Killgo's Class in Full Color!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Killgo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8168203"},{"teacherId":1584154,"projectId":8921285,"letterContent":"Students were able to relax after school while doing puzzles.
