Your generosity brought us new lights, wallpaper for our journalism podcast space, and supplies like pens, highlighters, and markers that my students use every single day.\r\n\r\nThe lights have completely changed the feel of our room. I wanted my classroom to be a place where students feel comfortable and at ease, not like they're sitting under fluorescent office lighting, and that's exactly what happened. My journalism students are just as excited about the wallpaper, which has transformed our recording corner into a real podcast studio for The Lariat, our student newspaper. It finally looks and feels like a space where professional work happens, which matters when you're asking teenagers to take their writing and reporting seriously.\r\n\r\nOne afternoon a group of my journalism students was recording a segment for their podcast, and for the first time, they stopped worrying about what the background looked like and just focused on their content. That's the shift I was hoping for: less self-consciousness, more confidence in their work.\r\n\r\nHonestly, the lights stole the show. Students have repeatedly commented on how \"cute\" the new lights are compared to the old overhead lighting, which they'd always called obnoxious. It's a small thing, but the room feels calmer, and students linger and chat more before and after class instead of rushing out. The podcast wallpaper got its own round of excitement from my journalism students, who immediately started talking about how much more legitimate their recordings would look and sound.\r\n\r\nRight now, my journalism students are working on building out regular episodes for The Lariat's podcast, using their new recording space to interview classmates, cover school news, and practice broadcast-style storytelling. The new supplies are also getting steady use in my ENG101 dual-credit composition class, where students draft, annotate, and revise essays by hand before moving to final drafts. Your support didn't just decorate a room, it gave my students tools and a space that make them want to do their best work.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1788548473107,"projectUrl":"project/cozy-classroom/10574875/","projectTitle":"Cozy Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Smith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4472745"},{"teacherId":8124870,"projectId":8923276,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donation. The extension cord towers have been a game-changer in our classroom, allowing students to keep their Chromebooks and devices fully charged throughout the day so that a dead battery never stands between them and their best work. With college application season and scholarship essay deadlines always on the horizon, uninterrupted access to technology means everything. The lotion-infused tissues have been a small but meaningful comfort during stressful stretches of the semester — because it's hard to focus on writing a compelling personal statement when you're battling dry, irritated skin from constant tissue use. And the antibacterial wipes have helped keep our shared workspace clean and healthy, reducing the spread of germs so students can stay in their seats, on task, and present for the lessons that are shaping their futures. These may seem like simple supplies, but together they send a powerful message to my students: that people believe in their success and want to make sure nothing — not a dead device, a sniffle, or a germ-covered desk — gets in the way of their dreams.","fullyFundedDate":1768171016619,"projectUrl":"project/powered-learning-and-keeping-students-he/10002364/","projectTitle":"Powered Learning and Keeping Students Healthy","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Smith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4472745"},{"teacherId":8010109,"projectId":10037508,"letterContent":"The impact of the items purchased have been extraordinary! Instead of relying on built-in camera audio, students are now learning how to properly capture crisp, focused sound—an essential industry skill.\r\n\r\nWhat has been most exciting for students is the immediate upgrade in how their work looks and sounds. They take pride in hearing the difference and are more engaged in the production process because their final product feels more \"real\" and polished. Others have taken a strong interest in the technical side, volunteering to manage audio and experimenting with microphone placement and sound control.\r\n\r\nYour support is giving students hands-on experience with the same tools used in professional settings, helping them build both confidence and career-ready skills.
