Since returning to the building I am trying to engage my students as much as possible in practicing self love and self care through movement, mindfulness, and setting intentions. In the counseling office I am trying to spend time teaching students how trauma sensitive yoga practices can be helpful in achieving this goal. This will also increase their social skills by encouraging students to work together daily. Right now a lot of time is spent in our department helping students cope with stress and anxiety and if we have yoga mats & a serence room, the kids will have more time to practice. My office and department is a place where kids can be themselves and work together to achieve positive goals.
