Over the years I have done my best to acquire novels for my students to read both for class and for pure enjoyment. I want to create a book flood so there are always enough novels to go around and diverse categories and genres to choose from. I've gathered a lot of cheap or donated novels over the years, but not all of them are as contemporary as we all would like. Many of my students love to read and many of them have found a love for reading through finding the right book! I want each of my students to be able to find that one book that sparks something for them. To do so, I need to provide them with more up-to-date novels with various topics and genres. I've covered many, but I still have big gaps that need to be filled. I've been lacking sports novels, some novels with diverse protagonists, and some series that are missing novels. I just want my students to find stories that spark something for them to find a love for reading and a growth in their empathy and worldly understanding.
