The goal was to have my students become more familiarized and accustomed to technology in the classroom and I think it has been a great success. Many of the tools that we have used they have found intriguing and are becoming more familiarized with them. This ranges to them giving presentations to demonstrating in front of the classroom. Many people use printers at home for simple tasks, but in our classroom, this technology has become a vibrant teaching tool that brings lessons to life in ways black-and-white copies never could.\r\n\r\nColor has helped my students better visualize key concepts across subjects. In reading, colorful anchor charts and story maps make it easier for students to follow along and retain details. In math and science, charts, graphs, and diagrams printed in color help students make clearer connections between ideas. Even classroom displays and student projects look more polished and professional, which gives my students a real sense of pride in their work.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our learning environment feels brighter, more engaging, and more inspiring. Your generous contribution brought new energy and excitement to our Local History unit. Because of your kindness, my students were able to explore our community's past in meaningful and hands-on ways.\r\n\r\nThe basket weaving kit allowed students to experience a traditional craft firsthand. As they worked together to weave their own baskets, they developed fine motor skills, patience, and a deep appreciation for the artistry and resourcefulness of the people who came before us. Many students proudly shared their finished baskets at home, sparking family conversations about local culture and heritage.\r\n\r\nThe new books became instant favorites in our classroom library. They helped us connect historical events and local landmarks to the lives of real people—farmers, builders, artists, and leaders who shaped our community. Students who were previously hesitant readers were drawn in by the vivid stories and illustrations.\r\n\r\nFinally, the diorama figurines helped bring history to life! Students used them to create detailed models of early settlements and important local scenes. These projects encouraged creativity and teamwork while reinforcing lessons about geography, culture, and daily life in our region's past.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, my students didn't just learn about local history—they experienced it. Because of your generosity, our classroom—and truly, our entire school—has been transformed in the most beautiful and meaningful way.\r\n\r\nThanks to your donations, we received soil, garden beds, gloves, shovels, butterfly nets, benches, and a variety of pollinator-friendly flowers. My third graders were so excited to dig in—literally! They took great pride in planting, watering, and caring for our garden, and it has quickly become one of their favorite places to be. They are constantly on the lookout for new caterpillars and butterflies, and they've learned so much about the lifecycle of monarchs and the vital role pollinators play in our ecosystem.\r\n\r\nThe garden has grown into more than just a science learning space—it's become a sanctuary. We now have monarch chrysalises hanging in several spots, with students from all grade levels stopping by to check in and watch them closely, eagerly awaiting the moment they hatch. The benches you helped fund offer a peaceful place to sit, reflect, or just enjoy nature, and our therapy dog often visits to sit with anxious students who find comfort and calm in the garden's quiet beauty.\r\n\r\nThis project has sparked curiosity, inspired compassion, and brought so much joy to our school community. This initial excitement has carried over into how they're using the materials both in class and at home. It's truly incredible to see their enthusiasm for learning extend beyond the school day.\r\n\r\nThe take-home tote bags have been an incredible hit when they were handed out on Back to School Night. One of my favorite moments was when a student, usually very shy about math, came back on Monday and couldn't wait to tell me their teacher how they used their materials. This project has already transformed learning from a classroom-only activity into a fun, collaborative experience for the entire family. My students were thrilled to have more options for indoor recess and choice time. The marble run was a clear favorite, with over half the class playing with it the first time it was taken out! The magnet tiles, Mancala, and Uno were the next favorites. \r\n\r\nIn addition, the sunflower cushions proved to be popular, with students opting to sit on them on the carpet during independent work time or reading time. When they were not being used during independent work, the sunflower cushions served to make our peace place a more warm and welcoming place. The basket allowed a single place for peace place items to be organized at the end of the day. Students took great pride in taking care of their classroom. \r\n\r\nLastly, the prizes were an amazing end of year celebration and motivator for students. Every day in May students would ask me when the class store would open, and by June they could not wait any longer. They practiced their math skills when counting their class money and budgeted to afford the prizes they wanted.
