These materials have truly been a lifesaver during the first few weeks of school.\r\n\r\nHere in Oklahoma, we have had an incredibly hot start to the school year. Almost every day since school began, our afternoon recess has had to be moved indoors because of the extreme heat. Keeping a classroom full of energetic third graders engaged during indoor recess can definitely be a challenge, but these STEM sets have given my students something fun, creative, and productive to do with that time!\r\n\r\nThe building sets quickly became some of the most popular choices in our classroom. My students love working together to build, create, experiment, and figure out how different pieces work. What could have simply been time spent waiting for the heat to pass has instead become an opportunity for creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, and lots of imagination.\r\n\r\nWhen I originally created this project, I was preparing for a different grade level. Just a couple of weeks before school began, I found out that I would be moving to third grade. I wasn't sure how everything I had planned would translate to my new classroom, but these STEM materials turned out to be absolutely perfect for my third graders. They have enjoyed them even more than I could have hoped!\r\n\r\nAs a teacher, it means so much to know that there are people willing to invest in my students and help provide experiences and materials that I could not always provide on my own. The excitement was palpable, and it was a wonderful reminder for my students that there are kind people in the world who truly care about their education and comfort.\r\n​These materials are already making a massive difference in our daily flow. I've been using the cordless hot glue gun to make quick classroom repairs; it's a total game-changer to fix a poster or a bin on the fly without hunting for an outlet or tripping over a cord! Additionally, the new dry-erase erasers arrived just in time, as we were down to our last few for our morning work sessions. At my craft table, the new table lamp has been a lifesaver. When we dim the overhead lights for a calm snack time, I no longer have to strain my eyes to get through my prep work—I can keep working efficiently while the kids relax.\r\n​Perhaps the biggest hit, however, has been the Infinity pencils. Not only are they saving us from the constant \"clink-clink\" of the pencil sharpener, but they are also teaching my students about sustainability. Since the metal nib replaces traditional graphite, we are saving trees and cutting down on waste. Plus, because they are so sturdy, I've noticed the kids aren't chewing on them like they did with wooden pencils! These will easily last us through the remainder of the year.
