We also have some fun favorites like There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Books, There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Worm, and The Crayons Go Back to School that will give us plenty of opportunities to laugh, make predictions, learn new words, and have conversations together.\r\n\r\nHaving a variety of books ready to go makes it so much easier to bring our classroom themes to life. At first, many students are simply curious and want to go over to look at it, water it, or see what has changed. Those small moments of curiosity quickly turn into meaningful learning experiences. We are able to ask questions, make observations, talk about what living things need, and encourage students to come back again and again to notice new changes.\r\n\r\nWe also added a classroom plant of our own so students can compare the two, discuss what they notice, and think about how different living things grow and change over time.
