With it, we were able to get our much-needed clay. I already had one project in mind: modeling the Barycenter of two celestial bodies. Without modeling a Barycenter, all the students will see is a diagram of a planet orbiting a star, both connected by an imaginary line. That doesn't have much of an impact. Once we start working with the model, students can see the center of mass, and the imaginary light bulbs suddenly appear over their heads. That's our current project.\r\n\r\nLater, we'll start modeling landforms when we study Earth's geology, specifically topography. I normally have students draw topographic maps based on an image of a landscape, which is fine. Building on this, students can now model landscapes in clay while looking at a topographic map. There is one more activity we might use the clay for, but I haven't worked out the kinks yet.\r\n\r\nThank you again so much.
