Every day is a good day to practice being present in the moment and there for both ourselves and each other. This year, I have shared many different things with my students in order to help them learn skills that will stick with them for life. \r\nWe have practiced breathing techniques like box breathing, deep belly breathing, power huh, and shakedown. Some of these include sitting still with our thoughts and emotions and some use body movements to ground us into the moment. We practice affirmations to help ourselves focus and regularly think about gratitude for ourselves and others. \r\nHaving donors like you help make teachers, like me, feel supported and like what we do matters. The Circut and supplies will be used to create promotional items and prizes to support reading in our school.\r\n\r\nAs soon as the materials started arriving, the students began to plan logos and designs for the \"swag\" that would be given out. It is incredible to be able to have stocked cupboards with supplies to be able to give to students who need one to begin with as a new student or others to be able to refresh. They know that I will have things they need or that I know where to get them. With our new iPads, I was able to give all of my AVID students a dongle and have a few extra on hand for students in my science classes who need them.
