I'm requesting five HP Chromebook laptop computers which will be used for a variety of learning activities. From access to create voice to text documents, e-reader apps such as Voice Dream Reader; an app that provides e-books and classroom texts and reads, highlights the words as it reads for students, it also has adjustable speeds to match the individuals processing speed. My scholars will excel when they have appropriate technology that meets their needs through supports such as auto correct and spell checker, interactive games, voice technology for my physically disabled students, interactive schedules, access to online resources like Moby Max; an application where teachers can assign differentiated instruction based on standards, skills, scope and sequence, and assign assessments to measure growth and progress. Moby Max can even be used to incorporate Individual Education Plans and progress toward those goals. None of this can happen with out computers in our classroom. In addition my scholars will benefit highly from the Wobble Chairs, Balance Ball Chairs, Lap Desks, Fidget Bands, aroma therapy, a Yoga Singing Bowl Set, fidgets, and LED light filters. These flexible seating and sensory materials can help them set aside their ADHD, trauma, sensory and other health impairments so they can dig into the Chromebooks and school. Many of my students have experienced trauma or have ADHD and benefit from a calm environment.
