Our students worked on creating their own race cars as part of a hands-on lesson about different types of energy. Science is something they can experience. As they built their cars, students were able to explore how energy can be stored, transferred, and used to make something move. They were able to ask questions, make predictions, test their ideas, and learn from what happened when their designs did not work the way they expected.\r\n\r\nWhat made this experience even more special was seeing how excited and engaged the students became. Students were talking with one another, sharing ideas, helping each other, and celebrating when their cars moved. They were not afraid to experiment or make mistakes because they understood that mistakes are part of the learning process.\r\n\r\nYour donations are helping us create a classroom where students can be active participants in their learning. Instead of simply being told the answer, they are given opportunities to discover answers for themselves. This storage also allows for a longer life span of my centers.\r\n\r\nAnother example is my fluency books, I was able to laminate and bind my fluency sheets. Now my students can pick their fluency book, work with the partner and read through them without having to sort through bundles of laminated mess.\r\n\r\nWith this improvements in my small groups, our centers are running smooth.
