And when a student asks for a pencil, a binder, or paper, I can hand it over and tell them, \"You can keep it.\" The relief and gratitude on their faces in that moment is something no standardized test can measure.\r\nOne of my favorite new classroom tools is our set of small whiteboards and dry-erase markers. Students who might otherwise disengage light up when they get to write, erase, and try again without fear of being wrong on paper. It turns everyday lessons into interactive, low-stakes activities where participation feels fun rather than risky. I've \r\nwatched quiet students become confident ones, simply because they had the right tools in their hands.\r\nWhat donors may not realize is how deeply the simple act of being provided for affects a young person's sense of belonging. When students feel cared for, the entire social-emotional dynamic of the classroom shifts.
