The whiteboards are used in tutorial sessions so that the AVID students can practice critical thinking and higher-level questioning skills. They work in groups to support each other in their learning by posing questions about their learning in their core classes. The whiteboards are specifically used to visually represent the question they are trying to answer with the help of their peers. The inspirational posters will be put up in each AVID elective classroom to remind and motivate the students to strive for the goals and dreams they have set for themselves. Many of the activities that are done in the AVID Elective class are geared toward helping the students identify their goals and dreams and come up with a plan on how to achieve them.
