A room that I've never seen in any other school. A room and resource that I wish I had when I was in school ~a room that every school should have.\r\n\r\nOur Best Buddies club has it's very own room that is now equipped with tables, chairs, air hockey, an arcade game and so much more.\r\n\r\nThis space is a safe haven for students to drop by during recess and various free periods throughout the week. We also have a Thursday lunch bunch gathering as well. \r\n\r\nSpace is a commodity in a school and so when our room isn't being used for the purpose of students gathering, it's also a meeting spot that is really comfortable for parent teacher meetings, peer meetings, homework help, etc.\r\n\r\nBut that is not all.... We now also distribute food that is donated to us by the food bank so at any time students who have a need may get snacks, juice, cereal, or canned meals without shame or questions asked.\r\n\r\nThe whole premise behind Best Buddies is to pair students with intellectual, emotional, developmental or physical disabilities with those who do not have these special needs, and because of the wonderful, fun & welcoming environment created in large part because of the items we received through your donation, our room/club is a place that everyone wants to be a part of. \r\n\r\nStudents who may have never spoken to each other, or even seen each other, now know each other by name, hang out and play games. Students who are shy and never say a word, are now coming out of their shell and speaking. All this has happened in only 1-3 months; and new students drop by every day. There's so much more than I can say, but I'll let the photos that I am including speak for themselves.\r\n\r\nOnce again, I can never thank you all enough.
