Because phones are not allowed in our school, students need to have a scientific calculator available for use in math class. By having calculators available, students can focus on higher level algebra concepts without being held back by hand calculations. This year, with co-vid 19, we are making sure students have their own individual supplies, instead of sharing like we usually do. Some of the families in our area have been hard hit financially this year, and therefore find it hard to buy all the necessary tools for their students. If we end up teaching virtually, we can provide these calculators to the students to take and use at home. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student support and success, you will ultimately help to level the playing field for those students in families without the resources to compete. Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether they have the tools to be successful.
