As we return to campus full time this year after COVID, our school goal is to celebrate the diversity of our students and staff, and bring them back together after a difficult year apart. Using the novel Bronx Masquerade for inspiration, my students will be embarking on a project-based learning unit where they learn how writing can bring a community closer together. They will read the novel, write personal stories in a similar format to the novel, write their own poems, and create a digital "poetry jam" for the entire school community to enjoy.
