One of our first projects used the TableTopics Teen Conversation Cards, where students practiced communication and listening skills during community circles. Paired with the soft glow of the outdoor string lights, the room felt warm and welcoming, which helped even our quieter students feel comfortable sharing. When they first saw the materials, especially the games, fidgets, and spinner wheels, their reactions were pure joy and curiosity. They immediately asked when we could start using everything, and many shared that the classroom felt more like a place where they could relax, be themselves, and connect with others.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our next steps include using these tools to support ongoing social-emotional learning and collaborative projects. Students are rotating through stations that include mindfulness games, timers for goal-setting, and group activities like Telestrations and UNO to build teamwork and problem solving skills. We are also incorporating the raffle drum and prize wheel to celebrate positive behavior and academic effort. Your donation has truly given our students a sense of ownership and pride in their learning environment, and it has strengthened our classroom community in meaningful ways. Thank you for giving our donors a peek into a classroom filled with growth, laughter, and connection, we couldn't have done this without you.","fullyFundedDate":1768416458739,"projectUrl":"project/interactive-sel-supports-for-middle-scho/10007274/","projectTitle":"Interactive SEL Supports for Middle School Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Hancock","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9406388"},{"teacherId":8106215,"projectId":9010894,"letterContent":"Improved Conceptual Understanding\r\nThe project allowed students to explore math concepts in a hands-on, real-world context. This helped deepen their understanding beyond rote memorization and encouraged them to see the \"why\" behind the math. Whether they were measuring, designing, building, or solving real-world problems, they were active participants—this shifted their mindset from passive learners to curious problem-solvers.\r\n\r\nStronger Problem-Solving Skills\r\nThe project encouraged students to approach challenges with multiple strategies, work through mistakes, and persevere.
