The uniform shirts and pants required by our district are always an added expense for families and often they just cant afford new ones when needed. It has been filled with used clothing donations of various sizes. Correct or popular sizes were not usually available. The funded clothing was so embraced by our students! It feels like shopping instead of picking out used. ill fitting clothing to wear in front of their peers all day. It really has made an impact of many young people by helping them feel better about themselves. \r\n\r\nOur school family will continue to provide for our students in any way we can. Several students happily helped me organize and stock my closet and all the new supplies.\r\nOur student ambassadors have assisted with the distribution of the cleaning supplies, tissues and paper towels. They delivered some to each classroom and left over supplies are on hand until depleted. \r\n\r\nThis project has helped our staff and students but personally, it's made this year so much easier for me (and my family). I spend a lot of my own money on supplies for myself and other staff. I am at whole box stores weekly to purchase snacks, drinks, and hygiene products for the students. Something as small as needing a tissue and not having one can cause stress or social discomfort. Addtionally, the colors of the world markers have really been helpful working on our Women's History Month projects.
