Having newer titles has also re-kindled the excitement of students we have who were already manga fans. \r\n\r\nSince the announcement was made that these books had been catalogued, processed, and ready, students have been all over them with some titles never making it back to the display, which is prominently featured near the permanent new books shelf. Your donation has had an immediate and meaningful impact on our high school physical education classes, transforming how students engage with learning each day.\r\n\r\nThe technology has become an essential instructional tool in our gymnasium. It allows us to clearly display learning objectives, skill demonstrations, fitness data, and game strategies in real time. Students can visually connect what they are seeing on the screen to what they are practicing on the floor, which has improved understanding, focus, and overall skill development. Having a mobile setup means instruction is no longer limited by space—we can bring learning directly to students wherever they are.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most is the ability to see learning come to life. Whether watching slow-motion technique breakdowns, tracking heart-rate or fitness goals, or reviewing game footage and strategies, students feel more involved and motivated. The screen instantly captures attention and helps create a structured, purposeful environment in a setting that can often feel fast-paced and noisy.\r\n\r\nThis technology has been especially impactful for visual learners and students who may struggle with verbal instructions alone. Students who were once hesitant to participate have gained confidence by being able to see clear demonstrations and expectations. Others have taken ownership of their learning by referencing the screen independently and helping peers understand drills and objectives.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our students are more engaged, informed, and excited about physical education. Thank you for investing in tools that support all learners and help us create meaningful, inclusive learning experiences every day.","fullyFundedDate":1760441429427,"projectUrl":"project/literacy-in-physical-education/9818887/","projectTitle":"Literacy in Physical Education","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Legath","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7653123_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760367309601","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7653123"},{"teacherId":9543052,"projectId":9823221,"letterContent":"Implementing the Building Thinking Classrooms model over the last two years in my classroom has had a significant impact on how my students engage with mathematics. The use of vertical, non-permanent whiteboards has played a critical role in this shift. As can be seen in the photographs, having the boards makes it easy for students to move flawlessly between one group and another's work. In this particular activity, students were tasked with teaching other groups of students work that they (and previous groups) did. One rule is that students are not allowed to erase anything, so these whiteboards provide students with an accessible, flexible space to think, collaborate, and take risks. Rather than just have them complete a list of problems at their desks, these opportunities allow them -- penalty free -- to openly engage in math. These examples are polynomial long division and students were tasked with modeling it three different ways to explain to their peers.\r\n\r\nI am one for pushing students to externalize their thinking and the boards are a perfect place for that to happen. Not only does it mean I don't have to go looking at 20 papers, it means that students have immediate access to the thoughts of their peers. Ultimately, this cuts down teacher talk, which is always a goal of mine. Students have much more autonomy in what they are doing when they are up around the room working. Ideas are visible, shared, and continuously revised; it reinforces my belief that the journey is more important than the destination. As these examples show, students are more willing to attempt challenging problems and explain their reasoning.\r\n\r\nThe continued use of these whiteboards within the Building Thinking Classrooms framework is showing great returns in my classroom. I can not wait to see what happens as my algebra 2 classes move into even more cognitively demanding concepts. I am proud of the work they do to continually push themselves to reach deeper and make greater meaning of what they are doing.","fullyFundedDate":1760374525567,"projectUrl":"project/building-a-thinking-classroom/9823221/","projectTitle":"Building a Thinking Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Woodring","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9543052"},{"teacherId":7248599,"projectId":9842355,"letterContent":"Thank you again for your generosity. Instead of focusing on isolated vocabulary or grammar, the books help students build real reading skills in Spanish—figuring out meaning from context, recognizing familiar words, and learning how to keep going even when they don't understand every single word. They're also picking up language structures naturally and getting more comfortable making sense of a whole text, which is a huge step in developing literacy in another language.\r\n\r\nReading in my classroom looks very active. Sometimes we read together as a class, sometimes students read with a partner, and other times they choose a book to read on their own. We talk about what's happening in the story, make predictions, and connect the books to students' lives. There's a lot more discussion and engagement than there used to be, and students are much more willing to try reading because the books feel accessible and interesting.\r\n\r\nSome of the biggest fans of the new books are students who normally don't see themselves as \"readers.\" Because the stories aren't overwhelming, those students are gaining confidence and actually choosing to read. Heritage speakers also really enjoy seeing familiar language and cultural connections in the books, and newer Spanish learners are often surprised and proud when they realize they can understand an entire story in Spanish. Overall, the books have helped students feel successful and motivated, which has made a noticeable difference in their literacy growth.","fullyFundedDate":1760380393150,"projectUrl":"project/la-literatura-en-la-clase-de-espaol/9823202/","projectTitle":"La Literatura en La Clase De Español","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rump","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1556770_orig.jpg?crop=2320,2320,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1625778845719","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/krump"},{"teacherId":6355212,"projectId":9824751,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your support!
