Expanding their language and access to the school world around them! With new materials and rearouces to make new materials, students will better connect with academic content and build relationships around them, as well... games, art supplies, and other interactive resources will also help students demonstrate other strengths in which they possess to help facilitate Speech and language development. This project will help to better bridge the gaps between students with Speech and language, as well as social language deficits, keep up fellow peers within their classroom. Students will use this project multiple days of their school week and in multiple different ways, too! The students will use the construction paper to create arts and crafts that correspond to their classroom and school wide lessons. They will use and benefit from the printer daily, as many of these students are nonverbal or have low language and require a variety visuals and visual aids to support and supplement their speech. Velcro helps attach picture cards to their school schedules, activity boards, and low tech communication devices. Other art supplies, like paint brushes, help student use different modalities to explore and create during art and crafts lessons. Reading books, like community helpers, in language group can expand a child’s knowledge of different social roles within their society to learn how to best interacts with all different people around them.
