It is their first time painting in the classroom. They are super excited and listen intently to me as I begin the lesson. \"Today you will meet Mr. or Mrs. Paintbrush!\" They all begin to wiggle in their chairs as smiles stretch across their faces. Their eyes are wide and sparkly. \"There are rules to being kind to your paintbrush and today we will go over all the rules.\", I tell them. We go over how to hold the paintbrush, how hitting it against the paint cup can hurt the brush but also splatter water all over their artwork and also their friends artwork. I explain that they want their paintbrush to have a \"nice\" hair day. So you don't scrub with the paintbrush on your paper but make nice strokes like you are petting an animal. As I finish up, I ask the students if they are ready and they happily yell \"Yes!\"\r\nSo we begin painting our paintings of a snowy day. The students are sort of apprehensive about making a mistake but I assure them that art is a process and we fix the mistakes. The longer they are painting the more relaxed they get. Then out of the blue, a student gets sad and starts pouting as they put their paintbrush down. I go over and ask, \"whats the matter, my little artist?\" I messed up and got paint on the table. \" Oh, that spot right there?, I reply. \" Yes\" the student says looking ashamed. Oh, no worries, our friend the wipe takes care of that!\" I happily explain. Then I wipe the spot of paint as the child smiles and returns to their artwork. \r\nNext, another student says \"Ms. Webb, I got paint on my hand!\" No problem I reply as i use a wipe to clean the hand so the student can finish their work. The class ends with happy students, fantastic artwork and clean tables. All of this is because generous donors choose to help me make a stress-free, clean art experience for my students. I am so grateful and hope you realize from this story the impact a simple wipe can make.","fullyFundedDate":1758636693650,"projectUrl":"project/clean-hands/9481413/","projectTitle":"Clean Hands","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Webb","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3095716"},{"teacherId":2362546,"projectId":9521659,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your kind and considerate donation to my project for snacks for my first grade students. Your kindness has made an immediate and exciting impact on our students, transforming abstract physical science concepts into hands-on, memorable learning experiences.\r\n\r\nThese plasma balls have become one of the most engaging tools in the lab. Students are absolutely fascinated as they observe electric currents move and react to their touch. What was once difficult for many students to visualize—energy transfer, conductivity, circuits, and the behavior of electrons—now comes to life right before their eyes. This level of visibility and interaction has made scientific ideas more accessible, especially for our visual and tactile learners.\r\n\r\nBeyond the academic benefits, the plasma balls have sparked genuine curiosity and joy. Our students ask deeper questions, share discoveries with one another, and show a renewed excitement for STEM learning. They feel like real scientists as they explore energy, light, and electricity through inquiry-based lessons that would not have been possible without your support.\r\n\r\nYour generosity allows us to offer high-quality, engaging science experiences that inspire creativity, build confidence, and nurture a lifelong love of learning.
