Imagine you teach in a demographic similar to the Ron Clark Academy’s in Atlanta, Georgia. Who wouldn’t love to learn how to motivate students and create a positive learning environment that helps students not just meet but exceed benchmarks. The Ron Clark Academy population is almost identical to my current schools. I’ve already done research on Ron Clark and used many of his strategies outlined in his books and seen much success. It would be a delightful experience to witness these philosophies first hand. Attending the teacher institute would allow me to return to my school and assist in developing effective instruction and help cultivate an environment where students meet or exceed district benchmarks. It would also allow me an opportunity to assist staff in dealing with any challenges we currently have.
