Multiple students have come up to me and said that this book is the first book they've liked in a long time. A few of my students have even started doing their own research on WWII. \r\nAs an 11th grade English class, we are studying character development, historical significance, and theme as we move through this beautiful story. \r\nWe switch between independent reading, choral reading, and reading with a partner to give students different ways to interact with the text. I read a few chapters out loud as well!
