Students have been using their own personal jackets to weld this past year, then going into their remaining classes covered in dirt and burn holes. COVID left a financial struggle for all and I don’t want my students destroying their personal jackets to protect themselves from the sparks and hot metal. The welding jackets will allow my students to come together as a class and feel like they are a part of a team while they are staying safe from harmful sparks in the welding shop. This will allow for each student to have the chance to wear a jacket that will actually protect them and not feel left out because they couldn’t afford an adequate welding jacket.
