Having a classroom set of calculators will help the students stay off their phones during assignments and test. Phones are amazing devices but when used as calculators, they provide one more opportunity to get the students distracted. Hopefully by having these calculators in class will help students stay on task. Writing sub plans and coming up with meaningful ideas when life takes a teacher away from the classroom is one of the hardest things to do as a teacher. Teachers Pay Teachers is a great resource that helps me out but also helps out the teachers that created it! The Wacom tablet is one of the best tools I've been able to bring into my classroom. It gives me the ability to work and write on the screen from anywhere in the room. I can be among the students and still provide examples to the class. The tablet I purchased with my own money years ago is starting to fail. A new one would help immensely if providing top tier classroom instruction. In the digital world we live in paper and pencil is a starting to be a thing of the past. Math isn't any different but at times paper is still king. It not surprising that many students don't carry pencils because of how much they do on their chromebooks. Providing pencils and a sharpener will help my students get learning done. Thank you for your consideration in providing new materials and experiences to my class and students.
