This project was fully funded in just 12 hours, which completely amazed me. What an incredible gift to our music students! Thank you for your incredible generosity in making this happen.\r\n\r\nWhen the box arrived, the kids could hardly contain their excitement. We gathered around and turned it into what we proudly called \"The Great Unboxing.\" There were so many excited faces as we opened the box and revealed the beautiful new xylophone. It was one of those simple classroom moments that I know I will remember for a long time.\r\n\r\nThroughout the year, we will use our new xylophone to explore melody, intervals, patterns, composition, improvisation, and ensemble playing as part of our music curriculum. I am especially excited to see the things our students will create with it. This new instrument will give so many more children the opportunity to play, experiment, create, and make music together.\r\n\r\nTo each and every one of our donors, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your generosity does so much more than provide an instrument. You are giving children the chance to experience the excitement of making music, the confidence that comes from creating something themselves, and the joy of playing together.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing that music education is worth investing in and for helping make our music room an even more exciting place to learn.\r\n\r\nWe can't wait to make some beautiful music with our new xylophone!","fullyFundedDate":1786809178889,"projectUrl":"project/xylophone-adventures-in-elementary-music/10451623/","projectTitle":"Xylophone Adventures in Elementary Music Class!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Paxman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3529105_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1673298560240","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3529105"},{"teacherId":8296571,"projectId":10466135,"letterContent":"Our classroom was so excited when our new resources arrived! The students immediately wanted to explore everything, and it was so fun to see their enthusiasm as they discovered the new games, books, organizational materials, and rewards. Their excitement was contagious!\r\n\r\nThese resources have already made a meaningful difference in our classroom. The organizational supplies are helping us create a more functional and inviting learning environment, while the games and activities have given students engaging options for indoor recess and opportunities to practice important social skills such as cooperation, communication, problem-solving, and taking turns. Our new books and classroom rewards have also helped motivate students and build excitement around reading, learning, and making positive choices.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching students gather around the new games during indoor recess. They were eager to learn the rules, work together, and include one another. What could have been a long indoor recess quickly became an opportunity for laughter, teamwork, and connection.\r\n\r\nAs the school year continues, these materials will continue to support our learning, classroom community, and daily routines. We will use them to encourage positive behavior, celebrate student growth, provide meaningful choices during indoor recess, and create a classroom where students feel excited, supported, and valued.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students so much more than supplies. And if there's one thing my students consistently ask for, it's more time to play their favorite instrument!\r\n\r\nOne of our favorite new xylophone exploration projects is inspired by the delightful book What Do Snowmen Do at Night? Students performed two different parts on the xylophones while we sang the song, rotating so that everyone had multiple opportunities to play.\r\n\r\nOur 6th graders also recently completed a \"Name That Tune\" project, where they were given sheets of melody lines and had to play them on the xylophone to identify the songs.
