I am requesting an Apple TV and an Apple Pencil which will be compatible with my classroom computer and projector. It will allow me to teach my students while I move around the room and interact with them. I can also use the iPad as a mobile document camera and the Apple Pencil as a mobile whiteboard. My district has adopted a new way of teaching math this year. It is student led, and focuses heavily on student discussion. The class is posed with a problem each day, and they are expected to work independently, then share their strategies with each other. I currently have students come one at a time up to my document camera to show their work. This is very time consuming. I then try to remind my class of everyone's strategies and connect them to our learning target. With this new technology, I would be able to more easily and quickly project student work, and highlight, draw, or mark up student strategies for everyone to see. Having this technology will greatly improve student learning. This instructional practice has been used by many teachers around me and they have seen a lot of benefit from this model. As of right now, I have to sit at my desk if I want to show something from my computer or my iPad. This will allow me to engage with my students and have a bigger impact on their learning.
