Your support provided the resources we needed to transform our history lessons into a truly immersive, hands-on experience that my students will never forget.\r\nBecause of your kindness, my students were able to step into the roles of historians and chefs as they researched and delivered speeches on three remarkable African American pioneers.\r\nThe highlight for the students was seeing these inventions come to life. They had a wonderful time making and eating fresh bread—just like Joseph Lee—and, of course, using scoops to enjoy homemade ice cream in honor of Alfred Cralle.\r\nTo wrap up our celebration, we shared a traditional soul food feast. The classroom was filled with the delicious aromas of fried chicken, mustard greens, and cornbread dressing as we honored the rich culinary heritage these pioneers helped build.\r\nYour contribution did more than just buy supplies; it gave my students a reason to be curious about the world and showed them that their own ideas can change everyday life. As we introduced the materials during center time, their faces lit up with curiosity and joy. Students eagerly explored each item, asking questions, sorting pieces, and working together to discover new ways to use them. One of our favorite moments was during a math center where students used counting bears and sorting trays to group by color and number. Not only were they practicing early math skills, but they were also building teamwork and communication as they helped one another and celebrated their successes.\r\n\r\nThese resources have quickly become an essential part of our daily learning. We use them during small group instruction, independent centers, and even during transition activities to keep students engaged and focused. I have already seen growth in fine motor skills, problem-solving, and confidence. Students who were once hesitant are now eager to participate, take risks, and share their thinking with peers. The hands-on nature of these tools allows every child to learn in a way that feels meaningful and fun.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to continue incorporating these manipulatives into our lessons by creating more structured center rotations that target specific skills like patterning, early addition, and collaborative play. We are also beginning a new unit focused on building and creating, where students will use these materials to design and problem-solve as a team. Thanks to your support, my students are not only learning foundational skills, but they are also developing a love for learning that will stay with them far beyond our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1759083808006,"projectUrl":"project/building-bright-minds-through-play/9584026/","projectTitle":"Building Bright Minds Through Play","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Padron","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9720575_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755121134595","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9720575"},{"teacherId":2883263,"projectId":9901988,"letterContent":"Our classroom has been re-energized thanks to the very cool and engaging Ozobots that we received in our project!
