Before these chargers arrived, a dying battery right before an online test meant instant panic, stress, and disrupted lessons. Having this supply ready to go in our room has completely taken that weight off their shoulders and mine. Now whenever a student is panicking about not having a charger, I'm able to reply, \"No charger? No problem, I've got you covered.\"\r\n\r\nIt might sound simple, but having these available has been a huge relief. My students no longer have to worry about missing out on a lesson or taking a hit on their grades just because their laptop died. Because the surface erases so easily, students take risks they wouldn't on paper. They start working within seconds instead of staring at a worksheet, and they're far less afraid of \"getting it wrong\" in front of others. As their teacher, I can walk the room and see every group's thinking at a glance, which means I catch misconceptions the moment they happen instead of days later. I also ask: Ready-set-show, and the class can see each other's work.\r\n\r\nOne moment that stuck with me: two students worked together to solve a complex equation, each taking one step at a time and using a different colored marker so their individual contributions stood out. As they went, they caught and fixed each other's mistakes right on the board. By the end, they could see their entire process laid out in bold colors from start to finish. Both of them were so proud of what they'd built together. Another moment was the use of the coordinate plane side of the boards to show a pattern of blocks that turned negative. Students were puzzled on how to show the idea of a negative number with blocks, until we realized we could use the coordinate plane to show values below zero combining the both hands on resources: the blocks and the whiteboards.\r\n\r\nNext steps: I'd like to be funded on Wipebooks. Using the same strategy, Wipebooks are non-permanent vertical surfaces where students can work in pairs or small groups.
