Track shoes (Spikes) are an essential part of track & field, they can be the difference between a split second loss or a slit second win. Eighty five percent of the running events these student athletes compete in require them. Last year many of these a kids who competed in sprints and relay races could not afford to purchase new spikes and competed in old and warn spikes which played a role in their finishes. If this project is fully funded, they will have the opportunity to compete a the highest level on the track without worry. This equipment will empower them in many so many different ways. They can focus more on their academics and track practice knowing they have what they need to be successful. It will boost team morale and build their self esteem because they will all have the same equipment. Receiving this equipment will enrich the lives of these young men because they will know they have support and that people really care.
