My fourth graders have loved getting to use the new supplies to create and serve fun drinks to the teachers and staff in our building. One of my favorite moments was watching students take on different jobs as they prepared the drinks, organized orders, delivered them, and interacted with staff members. What feels like a fun treat is also giving them opportunities to practice responsibility, teamwork, communication, and real-world skills.\r\n\r\nThe excitement when my students first saw all of the materials was incredible! They immediately wanted to know when we could start, what drinks we could make, and who would get to help with each job. They have taken so much ownership of the Brew Cart and are incredibly proud when it is their turn to serve. They especially love getting to walk around the school and surprise teachers with a fun drink during their day.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to continue growing the Brew Cart and giving more students opportunities to take on leadership roles. We will keep practicing skills like reading orders carefully, measuring ingredients, following multi-step directions, working as a team, and providing great service to others. This project has become so much more than making drinks—it is a way for my students to build confidence, serve our school community, and experience the joy of doing something kind for someone else. The PicassoTiles were an immediate favorite, and students couldn't wait to start building, experimenting, and working together to see what they could create. We are using the mesh zipper pouches to keep classroom materials and activities organized and easy for students to access independently. The colorful dry-erase markers have made practicing math, phonics, and other skills on whiteboards much more engaging, while the sand timers are helping students build independence and learn to manage their time during centers and partner activities. We have also loved using the Colors Like Me crayons for our drawings and projects because students can choose colors that better represent themselves and the people in their lives.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching students work together with the PicassoTiles. They naturally began sharing ideas, problem-solving when their designs didn't work, and celebrating when they figured out how to make their structures stronger. They were learning important STEM concepts without even realizing how much learning was happening!\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue incorporating these resources throughout our daily lessons and learning centers. Students will use the building materials for STEM challenges that require them to plan, build, test, and improve their designs. We'll also continue using the timers, dry-erase markers, and organized activity pouches to help students become increasingly independent during small-group and center time. They often recognize themselves in the characters and are more willing to share their own experiences after hearing a story. *The Invisible String* has been particularly meaningful for students dealing with separation, changes at home, or missing someone they love.
