Learning a new language takes immense mental energy, and staring at screens all day can cause digital fatigue and make lessons feel abstract. Thanks to your generosity, we can now turn digital assignments into physical, interactive tools like color-coded sentence frames students can cut apart to master word order, and high-resolution graphic organizers they can physically trace on their desks to make complex grammar concrete.\r\n\r\nThe absolute highlight for my students has been our new \"Publishing Parties.\" In the past, their hard work lived invisibly inside a digital folder, but now, the room buzzes with excitement whenever they hear the printer warm up. The students are thrilled to see their names printed on the covers of actual, physical books that they proudly bind, design, and place on our classroom library shelves. Because of you, they no longer feel like they are just practicing a difficult language—they genuinely see themselves as published authors.\r\n\r\nThis technology has sparked the deepest breakthrough for our newcomer students, including a young boy who recently arrived in the country speaking no English at all. After tirelessly creating a digital story using pictures and his first few English words, seeing his work printed into a real booklet completely transformed him,he beamed with pride and carried it everywhere for a week. Because his family does not have a computer or internet access at home, this printed page was the only way he could share his success with his parents, allowing him to proudly hand them his book and say, \"Look what I can do.\" Thank you for giving my students a physical voice and a tangible sense of pride.","fullyFundedDate":1778546538860,"projectUrl":"project/beyond-the-screen-bringing-student-voic/10223717/","projectTitle":"Beyond the Screen: Bringing Student Voices to Life","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wiesel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5557046_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1532278020295","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5557046"},{"teacherId":4688680,"projectId":10060126,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your kind and generous donations. These tools are essential for the classroom! \r\n\r\nIt has been extremely helpful having the many classroom items organized. It has had not only an impact not only on teaching but also on learning. With these resources neatly arranged and easily accessible, lessons flow more smoothly and efficiently. With the skin color crayons, students are able to represent themselves more easily in their art work. Students use the tactile stickers to help themselves stay calm when they begin to feel like they are getting worked up. \r\n\r\nOverall, the funding for this organization project has promoted a culture of respect and care for materials while supporting diverse learning styles through purposeful, engaging activities.
