That folding table has worked out great as an extra seat that I've needed for quite sometime. Students are racing to class to see if they have been chosen as the \"lucky one\" to sit there as it extends my teacher table. And that sweeper has been so helpful as my classroom rarely gets cleaned at night. Of course the students favorite items are the candy! It's amazing what they will do to get candy. \r\n\r\nI have already started organizing supplies and manipulatives with the storage bins. It's so much easier to find things and the fact that I can see thru them is so helpful. It also makes it easier for the students as they can locate things on their own. :)\r\n\r\nYou truly have made a difference. The mesh bags are going to hold one of the dry-erase multiplication boards for each student, a dry-erase eraser, manipulatives to practice multiplication hands-on and other items like the mini playing cards and plastic money to play multiplication games for practice. \r\n\r\nThey are going to be excited to earn candy and small prizes when they master their multiplication skills. Just seeing them will motivate them to work hard. \r\n\r\nI'm starting the year by using the magnetic shelves to hold books that pertain to math and specifically multiplication. This will help introduce the concept of multiplication. Because of you, my students were able to experience Native American culture in a meaningful, hands-on way by creating traditional corn husk dolls.\r\n We were able to discuss the many uses of corn and corn husks for the Native people and many students were surprised to learn that corn even had husks! They were also fascinated with the way the texture changed from when it was dry to wet. There was a bit of frustration during our activity, but the students stepped up to help each other out. \r\n In the end, each 4th grade student was able to go home with a completed doll. They were all so proud of what they had created! This is certainly a project that I plan to repeat for years to come. I've had to \"ration out\" dry-erase markers as the supply was getting pretty low and now I can let them get a new marker since we have more. That alone makes them super happy! \r\n\r\nThe game cards and flash cards are a big hit! They love games they can use with friends and they can do them together. Makes it less scary and it's just fun to have a partner.\r\n\r\nWe haven't used the buzzers yet, but I plan to use those with test prep as we get closer to testing in the spring. It happens to the best of us!\r\n\r\nThis is such a welcomed relief that we can fight all the things in all the ways. The Kleenex will help kids cover their coughs and sneezes and with those snotty noses. Then the hand sanitizer will get the germs off their hands. Finally the wipes will come in to sanitize all the surfaces, including the markers.
